All children deserve to learn how to read and as Frederick Douglas said, "Once you learn to read, you will forever be free."

There are many children in our schools who find reading difficult and it is my goal to support schools with this challenge.
Having worked in a range of challenging schools, as a deputy-headteacher and headteacher, I have developed a good understanding of some of the challenges schools can face when getting all children to become fluent readers. Through work with schools, extensive reading and accessing various national professional development opportunities, I have developed a wide range of skills and knowledge in the area of early reading.
I have now reached a point in my career where I want to branch out and support as many schools as possible. In essence, I would like to use my experience, skills and knowledge to help others to help the children in our schools.

LAUNCHPAD READING
Having worked with numerous schools, it became clear that they struggled to implement a daily reading lesson for younger children. Due to various barriers, they simply could not do it through a group approach.
I worked with schools to build a whole class reading lesson approach for children in Reception and KS1.Â
